Pickled red onion

Pickled red onion is something you have to do yourself, compared to the store prices, it’s extremely cheap to make. It’s also really easy and lasts forever.

Cooking time: 10 mins|1 big jar

Ingredients:

  • 2 big onions
  • 3 dl water
  • 2 dl sugar
  • 1 dl vinegar.

Instructions:

  1. Heat the ingredients in a pot until the sugar has melted.
  2. Slice the onion into thin slices, I used a mandolin.
  3. Put the onion in a resealable jar and pour the pickling mixture into the jar. Allow to cool and put in the fridge.
